At PockeTube.top we respect your privacy and are committed to transparency about how we collect, use, and protect your data. This policy has been written to satisfy Google API Services User Data Policy and the Google APIs Terms of Service.

1. Data Accessed from Google

When you sign in with Google, PockeTube requests the following information from your Google account via OAuth 2.0:

• Display name — shown in the app header so you can confirm you are signed in to the correct account.
• Email address — used as a unique identifier to associate your saved videos with your account.
• Profile picture (avatar) — displayed in the app header for visual confirmation of the signed-in account.

2. Data Usage and Storage

We collect and store only the minimum data required to operate the service:

• Authentication & personalization: Your name, email, and avatar are stored to identify you across sessions and personalise the app interface (e.g., displaying your name in the header).
• Saved content: YouTube video IDs and titles you choose to save are stored in your personal library.
• Storage: All user data is stored in a securely managed PostgreSQL database. Each user's data is fully isolated — you can never access another user's saved videos, and they cannot access yours.
• Retention: Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data (profile information and saved videos) is permanently deleted from our database.
• No data sales or sharing: We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.

3. Data Security & Protection

We take the security of your data seriously and apply the following measures:

• Encryption in transit: All data exchanged between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS).
• Encryption at rest: The database is hosted on infrastructure that applies encryption at rest by default.
• User-data isolation: Database queries are scoped to the authenticated user's ID, ensuring strict data separation between accounts.
• OAuth 2.0: We use Google's OAuth 2.0 flow — PockeTube never sees or stores your Google password.
• Minimal scope: We request only the OAuth scopes required (profile and email) and do not request write access to any Google service.

4. Cookies

PockeTube uses the following types of cookies:

• Session cookie: Maintains your authenticated login session. This cookie is strictly necessary for the app to function.
• Preference cookie: Stores your UI theme choice (Light / Dark mode).
• Analytics cookies (optional): Google Analytics cookies are loaded only after you give explicit consent via our cookie consent banner. You can withdraw consent at any time from the banner or your browser settings.

5. Google Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data (page views, session duration, device type, general geographic region). This data is used only to understand how the app is used and to improve the service.

Google Analytics data is processed according to Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out at any time using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Your Rights & Controls

You have full control over your data:

• Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from within the app settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
• Revoke Google OAuth access: You can revoke PockeTube's access to your Google account at any time via Google Account Permissions. Revoking access will sign you out of PockeTube.
• Analytics consent: You can withdraw your Google Analytics consent at any time via our cookie consent banner or by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.
• Access & portability: To request a copy of the data we hold about you, contact us at the address below.
